Most mining-truck comparisons go wrong in the same place: they treat the number in the model name as the carrying capacity. On wide-body platforms that number almost always refers to gross vehicle weight — the machine plus its load. What actually gets carried is a different figure.
First correction: read the tonnage properly
Across the SINOTRUK range, payload is about 71 per cent of gross vehicle weight. On the 135 platform that means 90 tonnes carried and 45 tonnes of machine. Treat the two as the same and you will under-estimate the fleet needed to hit a target tonnage by roughly a third — an error whose cost appears not in the purchase contract but six months after commissioning.

How the matching was done
Each model was matched in three steps. First, by nearest real payload — not by a similar-looking number in the model name. Second, by machine architecture: mechanical wide-body against mechanical or electric rigid-frame, because those two families run different duty cycles. Third, by relative new-purchase position, described without a figure and without any MSRP claim.
The 50–60 tonne band
Yellow River 70, at 50 t, sits against the 46.8 t Cat class, the 55.5 t Komatsu HD465-10 and the 42–45 t BELAZ 7547. The 7547 carries less and is not an exact 50-tonne counterpart.
New 90, at 57 t, matches the 56 t Cat class and the HD465-10 most closely. The 95, at 60 t with a 36 m³ body, stands directly against the BELAZ 7555 (55–60 t) and slightly above the Cat of that class.
The 70–80 tonne band
The 105 carries 70 t — about 9 per cent more than the Cat 775 and more than the 64.1 t Komatsu HD605-10. For a project where 64 t is not enough but stepping up to the 90-tonne class cannot be justified, this is the balance point.
The 120, at 80 t, fills the gap between the 64-tonne and 90-tonne classes — a gap where Cat and Komatsu have no direct intermediate model.
The 90 tonne band
Here the match is almost exact. The 135 at 90 t sits against the Cat 777 at 91.7 t, the Komatsu HD785-8 at 92.2 t and the BELAZ 7558R at 90 t.
The real difference in this band is not capacity but speed: the Cat 777 reaches 65.9 km/h and the BELAZ 7558R 50 km/h, while the SINOTRUK platform is designed around 40 km/h. On short open-pit cycles that ceiling is not a practical constraint; on long hauls it is.
Operational conclusion
On speed and power, Cat and Komatsu lead. On payload against initial investment in a short cycle, SINOTRUK is the more economical choice. Which is right depends on whether your haul is short or long, and on whether cost per tonne-kilometre or cycle time matters more to you.
Price position
This report publishes no figure and makes no MSRP claim. What the market review supports is only a direction: SINOTRUK is typically below Cat and Komatsu, and often more competitive than BELAZ. The real price for any project depends on configuration, quantity, delivery terms and the rate on the day, and is stated only in a written commercial proposal.
